I am so thankful today to receive a Liebster Award by The 80/20 Mom. Her mommy blog is packed full of wonderful advice and stories about her own life and experiences as a mom. The topics she writes about have inspired several of my own upcoming posts. Please, go check out her blog and send her some love!
I’ve seen these Liebster Awards all over other up-and-coming blogs that I love and never quite knew how you get one or what it’s all about–until now! Ashley over at We Loved Here explains all about the Liebster Award very well. So, here it goes…
11 Random Facts About Me
1.) The biggest secret I have to share with you is that my name isn’t really Libby Sawyer. Those are the names of two of my cats!
2.) Oh, yea. I have three cats all younger than 2 1/2 years.
3.) I write another blog–Spreading Some Sanity. I try to share as much of myself and my life in that blog (and this one, too) as I can, so I like the anonymity a pseudonym gives me. I can write freely without worrying about the people in my life finding my writing and judging me for it.
4.) I started writing this blog to keep track of lists I was making when I was pregnant and preparing my house for my son to arrive. Then as I had questions about how to raise a baby–and started researching everything from the consistency of baby poop to what’s the best high chair–I decided to continue the blog and give other mother’s some tips and advice I learned along the way.
5.) I LOVE ICE CREAM. I blame it (and my pregnancy) for my weight gain.
6.) I hate cheese. I even take the cheese off my pizza. My fiancé is the same way. That’s why I love him.
7.) I’m a stay at home mom. Though, I wish I could use my degree (English Literature) and teaching certification (English grades 7-12).
8.) My fiancé says I’m a naturally born business woman. But I think I’m way too ethical to do anything with that. I do have a knack for advertising and product conceptualizing.
9.) I’ve never left the country. I hope someday I can…
10.) …but I have a lot of debt, and that’s what’s stopping me…
11.) …I need to buy a house (I rent a house right now). And a new car. And a dining table, couch, bigger bed…… on and on.
11 Questions From My Nominator (The 80/20 Mom)
1.) Your favorite time waster
Pinterest. If I’m ever really, really bored, that’s what I do. If you want to follow my boards, I’d be happy to have you! I also enjoy 9Gag and watching YouTube videos. I’ve been keeping up with JacksFilms and Tobuscus as of late.
2.) Book you loved as a child
3.) Trait that you love most about yourself
Physical: my eyes
Personality: my ability to start a conversation and maintain it anywhere, anytime, with any person. It’s the one trait that landed me the most wonderful fiancé I could ever ask for.
4.) Trait that you would most like to change
Oh goodness, that can of worms! lol
Physical: my crooked nose, my saggy baggy breasts (thanks to being pregnant), my pudgy tummy, and this weird under-chin thing that runs in my family and makes me look like I have a double chin.
Personality: I’m quick to anger and get annoyed easily. I wish I was more bubbly. :-(
5.) Facebook or Twitter
Facebook. Twitter is too confusing.
6.) Bygone era that you’d like to experience
When my grandmother was growing up (30s-50s). It seemed like a time when people could trust each other more.
7.) Another country that you’d like to live in
Denmark. I once saw this thing on Oprah about it. I think it was Oprah. I hate Oprah, so I could be wrong about that. Or Tuscany with all those grapes!
8.) Messiest room in your house
9.) Favourite physical activity
Sex. I don’t like physical activity, except maybe for swimming.
10.) Your last meal would be
Chicken pot pie. The kind I make. Homemade. From scratch. Except the crust which is Pillsbury because it tastes the bestest.
11.) What makes you unique?
2.) birminghambell- this mommy isn’t afraid to tell it how it is, and what she has to say is quite entertaining.
3.) The Leaking Boob- I literally just started following this blog, but everything I’ve read I loved. I can’t wait to get back to reading what she has to say. Also, I’m really digging the look of the blog.
4.) The Wheezy Runner- follow Melissa on her fitness journey! Many of you mommy bloggers out there are wondering how to lose the baby weight. She might not be a mommy, but her blog will hopefully give you the encouragement to get up off your butt and make it happen.
5.) One Change in a Lifetime- this mommy from the UK shows us that some mommy issues are universal
For My Nominees
Not sure what a Liebster Award is all about? Here are the “rules” (or should I say, in the words of Captain Jack Sparrow, ”more what you’d call ‘guidelines’ than actual rules”):
1. Each nominee must post 11 things about his or her self.
2. Answer the questions (see below) that your nominator asks you.
3. Choose 11 people to nominate for a Liebster and link them in your post. They have to be up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers. No tag backs to the person who nominated you!
4. Create 11 questions for the people you’ve nominated.
5. Go to their page and tell them they are nominated.
