Love With Food {October} Review

by , under Product Reviews

This month I accidentally ordered two Love With Food boxes.  Last month was very busy planning for my son’s party, and it somehow slipped my mind that I already had a renewable subscription when I signed up for another box.  Oh well, more treats for my fiancé and son (that’s who normally eats them)!

A Peak Inside

This box wasn’t as full as the others I’ve gotten in the past.  So, I was a bit worried.  I loved the cute little Halloween information card!

So, on to the reviews…

Chocolate Pizzelle Crisps || See the review at

Chocolate Pizzelle Crisps from Silk City Snacks

I know 100 calories is the point of these, but I’d rather have had a 200 calorie snack that was much sweater.  These kind of taste like the black cookie part of an Oreo, but a lot crunchier.  They’re okay if you like that sort of thing, but totally not for me.

Please excuse the cat hair. I have three cats and the hair everywhere is never-ending!

Triple Berry Glee Gum from Verve Inc

These were good.  A little tough to get going, and you can’t blow bubbles with them, but they tasted good.  Each box holds four pieces.

New World Caveman Cookies by Caveman Bakery

These were okay.  They remind me of the cookie part of oatmeal cream pies, but without the sweet frosting filling.  It’s interesting that these are made with no grains.

Organic Hard Candies from Torie & Howard

These are very flavorful candies.  I don’t really like apple or pear sauce, but if I did I would have loved the green ones because that’s exactly what they taste like with a dash of cinnamon.  Very fall festive.  The blood orange ones were delicious!!

Vinaigrerie Gingras Pixo Pearls

So, these are apple cider vinegar pearls encapsulated in a seaweed film?  Hey, that’s what the website says.  I totally could see these being used on a salad as a substitute for oil and vinegar dressing.  My fiancé will try these when we have salad next.

Happy Squeeze Fruit and Veggie Twist || See the review at

Happy Squeeze Fruit and Veggie Twist  + $1 coupon

This squeeze pouch is a mix of apples, blueberries, and purple carrots.  I wasn’t aware that such a thing as purple carrots existed, until now.  My son loves squeeze pouches, so I gave this to him.  He decided to be a bad baby and spit it out all over his outfit, which now needs pre-treated because this stains.  🙁  My fiancé enjoyed it.  We’ll probably use the coupon that came in the box and buy some more.

Dang Toasted Coconut Chips || See the review at

Dang Toasted Coconut Chips

I once read a review of these that said they look like toenail clippings.  Well, they do!  They taste like…coconut.  No big surprise there!  They are decent to snack on and have a neat texture.

Cranberry Almond Kind Bar || See the review at

Cranberry Almond Kind Bar

This was pretty good.  It had whole nuts in it, which means you have to really like nuts to enjoy this.  The cranberries added just enough sweetness to offset the bitter nut taste.

My fiancé and son really like these boxes, so I’ll probably keep getting these boxes for them, but not so much for me.  I’m just not adventurous enough when it comes to food.  If you have suggestions for affordable (read that as CHEAP) food boxes, I’d love to hear them. 🙂
