Baby Proofing Your Home

by , under Baby and Child Proofing, Gross and Fine Motor Skills, Updates About My Son!

My son is 6 months old and started creeping around the house.  He’ll lay on his stomach and push himself backwards and around in circles.  And he’s fast!  I put him on his back on his play gym while I was getting dressed, and in the minute or two it took me to fully clothe, he was on his stomach five feet away from the play gym. With that speed, it’s time to baby proof.

My son took his sock off and put it in his mouth while he was crawling around. He’s very skilled with his hands for his age.

I could go on to write my own list here, but BabyCenter.com has an amazing, detailed checklist that covers just about every area in your home: Childproofing Checklist: Before Your Baby Crawls.  As I begin baby proofing my house, I’ll share with you what I did.

Do you have suggestions on how I should baby proof my house? Share them in the comments!
